Corner View is a weekly appointment - each Wednesday - created by Jane of Spain Daily, where bloggers from all corners of the world share their view on a pre-arranged theme. If you'd like to join in, please leave a link to your Corner View post in the comments below, and be sure to visit other participants too.
Many thanks to Cole for the theme today!
After reading of Nadine's love for sourdough bread, I was inspired to make my own starter. It's very easy, and involves growing wild yeast for several days in a mixture of water and flour, each day feeding it equal parts of more water and flour.
Though the process was easy, I haven't completely tamed the wild beast yeast yet: the first batch of sourdough bread I made didn't seem to want to rise at all, and I eventually had to add regular brewer's yeast. Did I do something wrong? Do any of you have experience making your own sourdough starter?
The theme next week is "replace", and comes from Anna.
Happy Corner Viewing!
