This year there was a definite shift in the way our house got decorated for Christmas (which happened this weekend... I know, I know, three days to Christmas...). I only explained where decorations, crêche figures, artificial tree and so on were stored (while sitting comfortably on the sofa with my knitting), and the kids did all the decorating themselves. While doing a magnificent job on the tree, Rebecca wandered around with a very dusty tree box over her head and body with only her feet showing. We have two handmade nativity scenes - a clay one we made when the boys were little, and a wooden one we made a couple years ago - set up next to each other. Two Baby Jesuses, and blind man's bluff with a Christmas tree box, may not be so traditional, or even orthodox, but they're certainly very merry.
From our home to yours, Merry Christmas!
