The Eternal Home Renovation Works are inching forward, if very slowly. None of the rooms is completely finished (and we're talking about a two bedroom rooftop apartment, not a country mansion), but I'm basically done with what I can do on my own, and now I'm waiting for the professionals (to fix a leak in the roof so that I can finish painting some ceilings) and for Tom to be back (to help with some of the heavier tasks). While I wait, I've started on some of the smaller jobs, the ones that can be put off indefinitely because they aren't crucial. Like this ratty old cylindrical cardboard box, which for reasons that are totally beyond Tom, I simply love (I have a thing for boxes), but which for the last 10 years or more has been in desperate need of a makeover.
It took only took about twenty minutes to cover it with some pretty paper, and now we have a lovely, brand new (old) cylindrical box that Tom will absolutely love - I'm sure.
Yes, it lives on top of a wardrobe (did you notice the sparkling white ceiling and walls?), so I photographed it there. And not because the floors are in no conditions to be photographed. No, sir.
