I was thrilled when I heard on the radio that the fall equinox would come a few days later this year, and that, technically at least, autumn wouldn't start until September 23. I'm never in any hurry to enter the fall, especially with a September like this year's, filled to the brim with summer. Our windows are still wide open, fresh produce and flowers abound in the garden, and the days are filled with outdoor play and beach trips -- and still saturated with summery color.
