This crochet motif has kept us company on the couch for a long time. It's the "Floral Motif Yoke" by Linda Permann (from the same Crochet Adorned book I posted about yesterday), which she uses to jazz up and refashion an adult-sized tank top. I followed the pattern, but used thinner cotton thread and a smaller hook it called for to resize it for Rebecca.
I thought it would go nicely with a blue-purple remainder of taffeta that I bought a few years ago to make myself a skirt, a project that never happened. But the crochet work sat on our couch until the other day, when I had a sudden urge to finish it (or to declutter the couch, perhaps?).
I finished the yoke - a gorgeous floral motif with a little edging around it - and also made again the "Scalloped Trim" to go with it. It looks a little serious and formal in the photos, but hopefully this weekend I'll be able to dig out my sewing machine, which has been hibernating for much of the winter, and make the light and breezy sleeveless summer tunic I have in mind to go with the crochet motifs ....
This is the third crochet post in one week! Which says something about the kind of winter weather we've been having: just thinking about sewing breezy summer dresses feels so good!
