This weekend my computer started acting up: all of the sudden, it began hitting keys on its own, sending emails by itself (sorry Merrilee!), and other very alarming initiatives. Two different virus searches gave me a clean bill of health, but the problem persisted. Until, in a fit of frustration and despair (because, of course, I had not been diligent at all about backing up), I picked up the unruly keyboard, turned it over, and shook it vigorously. And a needle fell out of it. Without the needle inside, the keyboard, and my computer, began to behave in a civilized fashion.
A NEEDLE IN MY KEYBOARD! How did it get there? I have many theories, but the truth is that since I showed Rebecca how much fun it is to stick pins in the pin cushion while mamma tries to get some crafting done, I haven't been able to use my pin cushion any more: in her view, it's become hers. And, frankly, hours of crafting later, who could blame her?!
Today, in the interest of my computer's health, and somewhat inspired by Origami Mommy's tiny pin cushions, I made myself my very own pin cushion (while Rebecca was busying herself with hers, naturally!).
I crocheted a tiny basket, stuffed it with batting, and sewed a fabric circle on top. I quite like it.
Problem is, Rebecca likes this pin cushion too!
