We took out our Christmas decorations, and then he and Rebecca assembled our artificial tree together, Jeremy occasionally needing to sit down because he felt "discomfort" (after experiencing excruciating pain, this is now how he refers to ordinary pain), while I made pizza dough and baked a light pizza for breakfast.
We had pizza at 11am, and when our Christmas tree was ready we couldn't resist lighting the candles, even though it was the middle of the day. We sat back and admired the tree with its burning candles for a little while, basking in the beautiful, peaceful moment. Then we put them out: we'll wait for Tom to come back on Monday night before starting our Christmas time as a family.
