In our busy family schedule, with Tom often away, Christmas is the time of year when we are all at home, and enjoy some peaceful time together. In the last few days, our house has seen lots of creative group lounging, with many, many games (Inkognito, a board game set in Venice with elements of Carnival, espionage, sleuthing and teamwork has been a big favorite recently), and much sitting and talking. There are so many things that interest our growing boys at the moment!
At night we had long fondue dinners, which isn't an Italian tradition, but has become our family tradition around Christmas time. We love the slow, communal cooking and eating (and the fun of choosing, forking, and dipping little morsels in the pan!).
Just before bedtime, we lit the candles and sparklers on our tree, closing each festive day in their warm, shimmering light.
