Rebecca and I can't quite stop "playing" with shells. She's quite happy to sit with me and make mosaics with beads and shells as I string away, and even while I use the drill. And I keep going from drilling to stringing, because I can't decide whether I enjoy more using a loud, menacingly sharp power tool or the slow, painstaking process of matching beads with shells and string and knotting them on waxed cotton. I think I like both activities, and their contrast.
I made the above shell necklace, purple with white, textured sea shells that have hints of black and gold, white beads, and purple waxed cotton string. I'm very happy about how it came out.
I also made one other shell necklace, tan with white shells, white beads and tan waxed cotton string.
Both are available in my shop.
